John's been playing guitar for over 30 years, first starting with some classical training before being sucked into the folk world in 2004. He takes inspiration from some of the greatest folk guitarists, but has a style all of his own which includes varied rhythms and many different chord inversions. He's also learning to play mandolin and low whistle. During the day, John manages stock at a plumbers' merchant.

Dave's been playing folk music since 2008 and has quickly learned Irish fiddle and accordion to a high standard. Dave's grown up producing music on keyboards and computers and this experience leads to Leafling's diverse styles and arrangements. During the day, Dave's a software developer.
